How to put on the perfect pout

Smudge-proof your lip color by following there five simple steps.

Things You’ll Need:

* lip pencil
* creamy lip balm
* lip brush
* toothbrush
* lip liner

Step1
Smooth the Surface -- To help lipstick go on smoothly, coat your lips with a creamy lip balm and use a soft toothbrush in a back-and forth motion to gently exfoliate your lip. Moisturize with lip balm daily.

Step2
Outline with lip liner -- Trace the V at the top of the Cupid's bow with a lip pencil; extend the lines from each peak to the corners of your mouth. Blend the color inward with your fingertips to soften any harsh edges. Repeat on your bottom lip.

Step3
Banish bleeding -- To prevent the color from feathering into fine lines around your mouth, fill in your lips with a pencil. The wax and oil in lip liner help the color stay put longer than lipstick alone.

Step4
Apply lipstick -- Relax your mouth so it falls slightly open. Starting at the corners of your top lip, use a lip brush to apply color and then shade in the rest; repeat on your lower lip. Then press your lips together to blend evenly.

Step5
Keep it where you want it -- For long-lasting color, blot your lips gently on a tissue, reapply the lipstick from sticking to your teeth, pucker up around an index finger, and then draw your finger out slowly. This will remove any excess product from inside your lips.
