Cervical cancer is the only cancer with a single-known cause – the human papillomavirus (HPV).
Did you know that the pap alone is not fool proof in detecting HPV?
–- it can miss up to half the time! But, when combined with the Pap, the HPV test is virtually 100% accurate in identifying women at risk for cervical cancer, so they can be monitored and treated well before cancer has a chance to develop.
